  • Piccolo Park – Ft. Lauderdale

A massive outdoor sports center with a variety of fields & facilities plus a velodrome & a skate park.

The Brian Piccolo Park opened more than 20 years ago and in those two decades has established itself as one of Broward County’s primary centers for athletic activity. This is only fitting for a park named after one of the top athletes in South Florida history.

Brian Piccolo’s family moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., when he was a child, and he became a distinguished athlete in both football and baseball at Central Catholic High School (now St. Thomas Aquinas). He went on to play football for Wake Forest University and then the Chicago Bears.

Among Piccolo’s many legacies is this 175 acre park in Cooper City. Its many athletic facilities include football and soccer fields, biking and jogging paths, a tennis and racquetball center, basketball courts and a velodrome. This facility also regularly hosts national and international events.
